Releasing the first iteration of MannyGame3D


Today I just publicly released MannyGame3D to my itch page for all 3 of my followers to see. Yuppie.

I have been making this game for a few weeks now and I have some new priorities when making this project compared to my last few projects, mainly in how I share the work I am doing. There are a few key elements to this, firstly actually showing the work I am doing to people and getting feedback from them, secondly making sure my game is available to play in browsers, and third creating artefacts that show the progress of my work. 

Making sure I get feedback is important, it will allow me to see what is working as intended, what is not, and also its just nice to see people play what you are making. That is why its so important that this game is playable in browsers too, even if there are some pretty significant trade offs to making this game playable in browsers it significantly reduces the friction for anybody I want to show this project to, instead of having to go through downloads and setups I can just send them a link and they can play within a click. Lastly I want to have artefacts so I can lookback and see how I progressed, mainly for myself so I can see how far this project has come.

In the past I would tend to work on a project until I inevitably burnt out and then released a project that was cool, but something I ultimately did not feel good about, doing the three things I described should hopefully lead to a better project and a better development processes overall.
